Ms Christine Woods


Ms Woods brings over 17 years of teaching experience and insight to the Aldar Academies community.  She has climbed the ranks from a Mathematics Teacher to hold various leadership position, including Head of Middle School, Deputy Head Teacher, Vice Principal and ultimately as a Principal in the UK. A former Local Authority Education Adviser and School Improvement Partner, Ms Woods possesses a deep understanding of what’s required to maintain and strengthen our academic excellence across all ages. She also holds a National Professional Qualification for Headship, and is a member of the Association of School and College Leaders. 

Mr. Michael Blakey

Head of Primary

Mr. Michael Blakey joined Al Mamoura Academy in 2017 coming from a senior leadership position in a high-achieving London Independent School, which was graded “excellent in all areas”. He will contribute over 15 years of teaching and leadership experience to the academy, having previously taught across Foundation stage to Year 6. This experience has provided him with a deep understanding of what is needed to deliver outstanding teaching and learning for all students.
In his previous roles, Mr. Blakey worked alongside local authorities in the UK to lead improvement across Literacy, Numeracy, PE, and Computing, and is a trained UK education inspector. He believes that each pupil should have a stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. As a leader, it is Mr. Blakey’s goal to help our students meet their full potential in these areas by providing personalised learning, collaboration and a celebration of achievement.

Mrs. Margaret Reid

Head of Secondary

Mrs. Reid brings over 25 years of international education experience to her role as Head of Secondary, including 20 years in the Middle East. Previously, Ms. Reid held the position of Academic Director for a network of international girls-only and co-ed schools in Kuwait, with responsibility for leading improvements and life-long learning. Prior to this, Mrs. Reid spearheaded the development of students, staff and educational standards as a Principal, Vice-Principal, Head of Secondary and Head of Primary. A trained linguist, Mrs. Reid sees herself as an ‘academic mother’, with a desire to see her students achieve their full academic potential and advance, empowered by education, to make a lasting difference to society as global citizens.
